Journal of Applied Science and Technology in Engineering (JASTE) is committed to maintaining academic integrity and preventing plagiarism and other forms of publication misconduct. Every submitted manuscript is screened for similarity before proceeding to the peer-review stage.

JASTE uses plagiarism-detection software to compare submitted manuscripts with published literature and other available sources. This screening is intended to assess originality, identify potentially unattributed material, and ensure that quotations, ideas, data, figures, methods, technical descriptions, and source code derived from other works are properly acknowledged.

Manuscripts indicating plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, excessive similarity, inappropriate paraphrasing, or unauthorized reuse of previously published material may be returned for revision or rejected. Similarity percentages are not used as the sole basis for editorial decisions. The Editorial Team evaluates each similarity report by considering the location, context, nature, and source of the matched material.

Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality of their manuscripts and for properly citing and referencing all materials obtained from other sources. The use of plagiarism-detection software does not remove the authors’ responsibility for compliance with publication ethics.

If plagiarism or substantial unattributed duplication is identified after publication, JASTE may issue a correction, expression of concern, or retraction in accordance with the journal’s publication ethics and editorial policies.
