Journal of Applied Science and Technology in Engineering (JASTE) is committed to maintaining high standards of publication ethics, research integrity, academic quality, and professional editorial practice. JASTE publishes scholarly works in applied engineering and technology, particularly electrical engineering, telecommunication engineering, and closely related technological fields. This policy applies to authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher and is based on internationally recognized principles of ethical scholarly publishing.

Authors

Authors must submit original manuscripts that have not been published or simultaneously submitted elsewhere. All data, figures, tables, software, algorithms, designs, technical specifications, and external sources must be presented accurately and properly acknowledged.

Authors must ensure that the manuscript presents a clearly defined engineering or technological problem, appropriate technical or computational methods, reliable data, measurable validation, and conclusions supported by the research findings. Fabrication, falsification, manipulation of technical results, inappropriate image modification, plagiarism, duplicate publication, and misleading reporting are prohibited.

Authorship must be limited to individuals who have made substantial contributions to the conception, design, implementation, analysis, validation, or preparation of the manuscript. All authors must approve the final manuscript and accept responsibility for its accuracy and integrity.

Editors

Editors evaluate manuscripts based on originality, technical quality, methodological rigor, relevance to the scope of JASTE, clarity of engineering contribution, and compliance with publication ethics. Editorial decisions must not be influenced by an author's nationality, gender, institutional affiliation, religion, political views, or professional status.

Editors must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and must not use unpublished data, technical information, designs, source code, or research ideas for personal or institutional benefit. Editors must disclose any conflict of interest and withdraw from handling manuscripts when their impartiality may be affected.

Reviewers

Reviewers must provide objective, constructive, technically informed, and timely evaluations. Reviewers should assess the originality of the work, appropriateness of the engineering or computational methods, reliability of data, adequacy of technical validation, accuracy of results, and significance of the technological contribution.

Submitted manuscripts and all related materials must be treated as confidential. Reviewers must not use unpublished findings, designs, algorithms, source code, datasets, or technical information for personal advantage. Reviewers must disclose any conflict of interest and decline the review when they cannot provide an independent and impartial assessment.

Publisher

JASTE is published by Arete Litera under PT Arete Mahardika Saqhi. The publisher supports editorial independence, impartial peer review, academic freedom, and the integrity of the scholarly record. The publisher does not interfere with editorial decisions based on commercial, personal, institutional, or political interests.

When allegations of research misconduct or publication-ethics violations arise, the publisher and editorial team will conduct an appropriate investigation. When necessary, the journal may publish corrections, expressions of concern, retractions, or other notices to protect the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record.

Research Integrity

JASTE does not tolerate plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, duplicate or redundant publication, inappropriate authorship, citation manipulation, peer-review manipulation, undisclosed conflicts of interest, or unauthorized use of intellectual property.

All submitted manuscripts may be screened using plagiarism-detection software before peer review or publication. Manuscripts found to contain substantial plagiarism, manipulated results, fabricated technical validation, or other serious ethical violations may be rejected or retracted.

Ethical Compliance

Research involving human participants, personal data, biomedical devices, animals, hazardous materials, environmental risks, or safety-critical engineering systems must comply with applicable ethical, legal, technical, and institutional requirements. Where relevant, authors must provide information concerning ethical approval, informed consent, safety procedures, risk assessment, data protection, or institutional authorization.

Conflicts of Interest and Funding

Authors, editors, and reviewers must disclose any financial, professional, institutional, personal, or technological interests that could influence the research, review process, or publication decision. Authors must clearly identify all sources of research funding and explain the role of funders in the design, implementation, analysis, interpretation, and publication of the study.

Corrections and Retractions

Authors must immediately notify the editorial team when significant errors are discovered after submission or publication. JASTE may issue a correction, expression of concern, or retraction when necessary. Retraction may be considered in cases involving unreliable findings, plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabricated or falsified data, serious methodological manipulation, or other major violations of publication ethics.
