Journal of Quality Management and Business (JQMB) is an international peer-reviewed scientific journal published by Arete Litera under the auspices of PT Arete Mahardika Saqhi. The journal publishes original research articles, conceptual papers, systematic literature reviews, and applied studies in quality management and business.

JQMB is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and research integrity. This statement applies to all parties involved in the publication process, including the publisher, journal management, editors, reviewers, and authors. Its principles are aligned with generally accepted standards of scholarly publishing and the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Fundamental Ethical Principles

The publication process of JQMB is based on the following principles:

• Neutrality: Editorial decisions must be free from personal, institutional, commercial, political, or other conflicts of interest.

• Fairness: Manuscripts must be evaluated objectively, regardless of the authors’ nationality, gender, institutional affiliation, religion, ethnicity, or political views.

• Confidentiality: Information concerning submitted manuscripts must be protected and disclosed only to parties directly involved in the editorial process.

• Honesty: All published works must be free from fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, duplicate publication, and other forms of research misconduct.

• Accountability: All parties involved in publication must take responsibility for their respective roles and promptly address ethical concerns when they arise.

Responsibilities of the Publisher and Journal Management

The publisher and journal management are responsible for:

• Defining and maintaining the journal’s identity, focus and scope, and publication frequency.

• Appointing qualified and independent members of the editorial board.

• Establishing clear working relationships among the publisher, editors, reviewers, authors, and other parties.

• Protecting editorial independence and ensuring that commercial interests do not influence editorial decisions.

• Establishing and communicating policies regarding peer review, publication ethics, copyright, open access, plagiarism screening, corrections, retractions, and complaints.

• Maintaining the confidentiality and security of manuscripts and personal information.

• Respecting intellectual property rights and applicable legal requirements.

• Supporting the timely and regular publication of the journal.

• Ensuring the long-term preservation and accessibility of published articles.

• Providing appropriate procedures for investigating alleged publication misconduct.

• Promoting continuous improvement in editorial quality and publication standards.

Responsibilities of Editors

Editors are responsible for:

• Evaluating manuscripts according to their academic quality, originality, relevance, methodological rigor, and conformity with the focus and scope of JQMB.

• Making editorial decisions independently, objectively, and fairly.

• Ensuring that manuscripts are reviewed by qualified and impartial reviewers.

• Maintaining the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and all related correspondence.

• Disclosing and avoiding conflicts of interest.

• Protecting the academic freedom and intellectual independence of authors.

• Ensuring that unpublished information contained in submitted manuscripts is not used for personal advantage.

• Taking reasonable steps to identify plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, falsification, inappropriate authorship, and other forms of misconduct.

• Providing authors with clear, constructive, and accountable editorial decisions.

• Evaluating complaints, appeals, and allegations of misconduct fairly and confidentially.

• Publishing corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions when necessary.

• Continuously reviewing and improving the journal’s editorial policies and publication quality.

Editorial decisions must not be influenced by the authors’ personal background, institutional affiliation, nationality, gender, religion, ethnicity, or political views.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers are responsible for:

• Evaluating manuscripts objectively, critically, and within their areas of expertise.

• Providing clear, constructive, evidence-based, and respectful comments.

• Assessing the originality, relevance, methodology, analysis, interpretation, and contribution of the manuscript.

• Maintaining the confidentiality of manuscripts and review materials.

• Not using unpublished information obtained through peer review for personal or professional benefit.

• Identifying relevant published works that have not been appropriately cited.

• Informing the editor of suspected plagiarism, duplicate publication, data manipulation, or other ethical concerns.

• Disclosing any potential conflict of interest and declining the review when impartiality cannot be maintained.

• Completing the review within the agreed period or promptly notifying the editor if additional time is required.

• Refraining from personal criticism or discriminatory comments directed at the authors.

Responsibilities of Authors

Authors are responsible for:

• Submitting manuscripts that are original, accurate, relevant, and consistent with the focus and scope of JQMB.

• Ensuring that the manuscript has not been previously published and is not simultaneously under consideration by another journal.

• Presenting research methods, data, analyses, and findings honestly and transparently.

• Avoiding plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, redundant publication, citation manipulation, and other forms of research misconduct.

• Properly acknowledging and citing all sources used in the manuscript.

• Ensuring that all individuals listed as authors have made substantial scholarly contributions and approved the submitted version.

• Excluding individuals who do not meet the authorship criteria from the author list.

• Disclosing all funding sources, institutional support, and potential conflicts of interest.

• Obtaining appropriate ethical approval, research permission, and informed consent when required.

• Protecting the privacy and confidentiality of research participants.

• Retaining and providing supporting research data when reasonably requested for editorial review or ethical investigation.

• Clearly explaining the study’s limitations and avoiding claims that are not supported by the evidence.

• Responding to reviewers’ and editors’ comments professionally, clearly, and within the specified period.

• Promptly notifying the editor if a significant error or inaccuracy is discovered after submission or publication.

• Cooperating with any correction, clarification, or retraction process.

• Formally informing the editor and providing a valid reason if requesting withdrawal of a manuscript.

Conflicts of Interest

Authors, editors, and reviewers must disclose any financial, professional, institutional, personal, or other relationships that could influence—or reasonably be perceived to influence—the research, review process, or editorial decision.

Editors and reviewers who have a conflict of interest must withdraw from handling or evaluating the manuscript.

Research Misconduct

JQMB does not tolerate:

• Plagiarism or self-plagiarism

• Data fabrication or falsification

• Duplicate or redundant publication

• Simultaneous submission to multiple journals

• Citation manipulation

• Undisclosed conflicts of interest

• Inappropriate authorship or ghost authorship

• Manipulation of the peer-review process

• Unethical treatment of research participants

• Unauthorized use of confidential data or intellectual property

Suspected misconduct will be investigated fairly and confidentially. Depending on the findings, the journal may reject the manuscript, request clarification or correction, notify the authors’ institutions, publish an expression of concern, or retract the published article.

Corrections and Retractions

When a published article contains a significant error or violates publication ethics, JQMB may issue a correction, clarification, expression of concern, or retraction. Such actions will be carried out transparently while preserving the integrity of the scholarly record.
