Arete Litera: Journal of Community Service is a scientific journal that publishes original community service works and multidisciplinary studies that have not been previously published.

Publication Ethics

This publication ethics statement applies to all parties involved in the publishing process, including journal managers, editors, reviewers, and authors. It is based on the Regulation of the Head of LIPI No. 5 of 2014 on Scientific Publication Ethics.

Responsibilities of Journal Management

  • Define journal name, scope, publication frequency, and accreditation
  • Appoint the editorial board
  • Establish relationships among publisher, editor, reviewer, and other parties
  • Maintain confidentiality of all stakeholders
  • Implement intellectual property rights policies
  • Develop and communicate journal policies
  • Provide ethical guidelines for editors and reviewers
  • Ensure regular publication
  • Secure sustainable funding
  • Develop partnerships and networks
  • Ensure legal compliance

Responsibilities of Editors

  • Balance the needs of authors and readers
  • Continuously improve publication quality
  • Ensure the quality of published works
  • Uphold objectivity and academic freedom
  • Maintain the integrity of academic records
  • Issue corrections or retractions when necessary
  • Handle formatting and style, while content remains the author's responsibility
  • Seek feedback for quality improvement
  • Encourage journal evaluation
  • Support ethical clearance practices
  • Promote publication ethics education
  • Review and improve editorial policies
  • Remain open to diverse perspectives
  • Avoid biased decisions
  • Assist authors in improving their manuscripts

Responsibilities of Reviewers

  • Review manuscripts objectively and provide recommendations

  • Complete reviews in a timely manner

Responsibilities of Authors

  • Ensure all listed authors meet authorship criteria
  • Take responsibility for the entire content of the article

  • Respond to reviewers professionally
  • Inform the editor if withdrawing the manuscript
  • Confirm that the manuscript is original and not under consideration elsewhere
